Red Roof Inns, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Front Desk Agent to join our team in Madison Heights, MI. In this position, you will greet guests warmly upon their arrival, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated. You will efficiently check guests in and out, adhering to Red Roof Inn procedures to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Answering phone calls and responding to inquiries about the hotel and local area will be part of your daily responsibilities, requiring you to provide accurate information and assistance. You will also handle guest requests and concerns promptly and courteously, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will process payments and maintain accurate records of transactions, which requires attention to detail and organizational skills. Keeping the front desk and lobby area clean and organized is essential, as is collaborating with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest rooms are ready and well-maintained. You will have the opportunity to promote and sell hotel amenities and services, assisting with reservations and room assignments based on guest preferences and availability. Compliance with hotel policies and procedures is crucial to maintain a safe and secure environment for both guests and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival.
  • Check guests in and out efficiently and accurately, following Red Roof Inn procedures.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries with accurate information about the hotel and local area.
  • Handle guest requests and concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate records of transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and lobby area.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure guest rooms are ready and well-maintained.
  • Promote and sell hotel amenities and services to guests.
  • Assist with reservations and room assignments based on guest preferences and availability.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and hotel software (experience with Opera PMS is a plus).
  • Ability to handle cash and financial transactions accurately.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
