Responsibilities

• Handle patient scheduling and appointments using a multi-phone line.
• Gather new patient data and keep track of all patient referrals.
• Disseminate information to patients and act as a liaison between patients and physicians.
• Send and log all reports sent to doctors.
• Collect payments and verify insurance information.
• Open and distribute mail to the appropriate areas or people.
• Send benefits paperwork to billing companies.
• Handle all scheduling and ensuing communication with patients.
• Answer phones and address questions from potential or current patients.
• Schedule patients and coordinate evaluations, re-evaluations, appointment reminders, and cancellations.
• Collect new patient intake information and track all clinic referrals.
• Fax reports to physicians and maintain a log of incoming reports.
• Verify insurance and track insurance-covered visits, including copayments.
• Check mail and keep track of Explanation of Benefits sent to the billing company.
• Communicate with the office manager and clinicians about scheduling and patient arrivals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• 1 year of medical office experience.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Great communication and multitasking skills.
• Detail-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Integrity and empathy towards patients in pain.
