About the position

The Front Desk Representative plays a crucial role in facilitating patient information flow and ensuring a smooth patient experience at the practice. This position involves managing patient registration, financial services, and general office support while adhering to confidentiality and service excellence standards.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the flow of patient information across the continuum of care.
  • Perform patient registration and financial services accurately and timely.
  • Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information for entry into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Assist patients with Phreesia tablets and medical forms as necessary.
  • Collect co-pays, co-insurances, deductibles, and past due balances from patients.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of all money collected.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments in accordance with insurance guidelines.
  • Organize and perform work effectively to support patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation are up to date at the time of service.
  • Handle phone inquiries from patients and refer them to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the patient waiting area and prepare procedure packets.
  • Participate in and complete all required trainings and in-services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, and the public.
  • Ability to work individually and within a team.
  • Ability to accurately collect and maintain money.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and respond with patience during stressful conditions.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Extreme attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and use reasoning to meet predefined quality standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

  • Pay Range: $16.00/Hr - $18.00/Hr
  • PTO: up to 44 Hours in the first year (pro-rated based on start date)
