About the position

The Front Desk Supervisor at Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh University Center Hotel is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing guest check-ins and check-outs, and ensuring the lobby and front desk area are clean and welcoming. This role requires a thorough understanding of hotel operations, including room availability, reservations, and emergency procedures, while also supporting the management team in yield management and special requests.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
• Check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner.
• Handle guest mail and messages per established procedures.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, room rates, amenities, and selling strategies.
• Take reservation requests efficiently.
• Answer switchboard in accordance with standards of proper telephone etiquette.
• Block rooms and handle special requests.
• Monitor room availability and offer AGM and GM assistance in yield management and restrictions.
• Handle safe deposits by guests per established procedures.
• Keep lobby and desk area clean and presentable.
• Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures.

Requirements

• Experience in customer service or hospitality industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of hotel operations and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with hotel management software.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
