About the position

The Front Desk Supervisor at Fairfield Inn and Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront is responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during the afternoon and evening shifts. This role focuses on ensuring guest satisfaction, managing the front desk team, and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and friendly environment while providing excellent customer service and leadership in the hospitality sector.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent guest service and enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company and departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel features, amenities, services, and all hotel departments.
  • Answer phones, check guests in/out, make reservations, handle guest requests, and coordinate groups.
  • Train, support, supervise, and manage the performance of the front desk team.
  • Involvement in hiring, scheduling, progressive discipline, ordering departmental supplies, monthly inventories, and departmental meetings.
  • Involvement in all hotel activities and offering support and assistance to all hotel departments.
  • Work to maximize revenues and minimize expenses.

Requirements

  • At least one year of hotel front desk experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Previous cash handling experience.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, overnight, holidays, and weekends.
  • Physical ability to walk and stand for up to 8 hours per day; push and pull up to 200lbs; lift/transport at least 50lbs; reach, bend, and stoop.
