About the position
As a Front Desk Sales Associate at Planet Fitness, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to members, prospective members, and guests. Your primary responsibility will be to create a welcoming environment that embodies the Judgement Free Zone® philosophy, ensuring that all visitors feel valued and supported in their fitness journeys. This part-time position involves various tasks, including greeting members, handling membership inquiries, and maintaining cleanliness within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club, assisting them with any questions or concerns.
- Promote the Judgement Free Zone® by connecting with members on the club floor and offering support in their fitness journeys.
- Resolve member concerns and escalate to a Manager as needed.
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with their inquiries.
- Perform membership-related functions such as sign-ups, updates, cancellations, and collecting unpaid balances.
- Conduct prospective member calls and tours, assessing their membership needs.
- Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
- Regularly clean and sanitize exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities, including communal spaces and assigned areas.
- Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and clutter-free by following the routine cleaning schedule.
- Perform comprehensive walks of all club areas to address safety/policy issues and cleanliness concerns.
- Promptly address maintenance and facility concerns such as broken or missing equipment.
Requirements
- 6-12 months of experience in a customer service environment is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Willingness to become CPR/AED Certified (Training provided by Planet Fitness).
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to continuously talk in person or on the phone during shift.
- Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals during shift.
