About the position

The Guest Service Representative/Front Desk role is essential for providing excellent customer service to guests at a hotel. This position involves greeting guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for all visitors. The representative will also handle reservations, payments, and maintain accurate records of guest accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and assist with check-ins and check-outs.
  • Register and assign rooms to guests.
  • Issue room keys/cards to guests.
  • Transmit and receive messages for guests.
  • Keep records of occupied rooms and guest accounts.
  • Make and confirm reservations for guests.
  • Present statements to departing guests and collect payments.
  • May be required to do laundry and prep housekeeping carts.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills for managing reservations and guest accounts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hotel or customer service environment.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software.
