About the position

The Front End/Assistant Department Leader is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while assisting the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals. This role involves supervising the Front-end department's daily operations, ensuring a safe and clean environment, and maintaining quality assurance standards. The position requires effective communication and teamwork to promote a positive atmosphere for both customers and associates.

Responsibilities

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return.
  • Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
  • Monitor all established quality assurance standards.
  • Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Front-end department.
  • Support the day-to-day functions of the Front-end operations.
  • Assist with the execution of best practices, goals, and Front-end standards established for the department.
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Manage the scheduling of Front-end associates to provide adequate department coverage.
  • Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget and profit and loss reviews.

Requirements

  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Retail or Customer Service experience

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Management experience
  • Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
