About the position

The position focuses on delivering outstanding customer experiences through exceptional service while maintaining a safe and clean environment. The role involves assisting the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, monitoring quality assurance standards, and supervising the Front-end department's daily operations. Responsibilities

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return.
  • Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals for the department.
  • Monitor all established quality assurance standards.
  • Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Front-end department.
  • Support the day-to-day functions of the Front-end operations.
  • Assist with the execution of best practices, goals, and Front-end standards for the department.
  • Promote trust and respect among associates and create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the departments and make suggestions to customers.
  • Assist with monitoring and controlling supply expenses for the department.
  • Manage cash control, sales, and cash items and records for the store.
  • Manage the scheduling of Front-end associates to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget and profit and loss reviews.
  • Collaborate with Front-end associates and promote teamwork.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logged.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Retail or customer service experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Management experience.
  • Ability to speak, read, and/or write a second language.
