About The Position

The Front End/Courtesy Clerk at Fred Meyer is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. This part-time role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and maintaining a safe and clean environment to encourage customer return. Requirements

• Minimum customer service experience.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various payment methods according to company policy.
• Adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
