About the position

The Front End Department Supervisor at Lowe's is responsible for leading a team of associates to ensure a superior customer experience in the store. This role involves coaching, training, and managing performance while collaborating with other departments to meet operational and safety objectives. The supervisor will also conduct safety walks, report hazards, and may occasionally open or close the store, serving as the manager-on-duty when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Coach and train associates on store operations and safety protocols.
  • Monitor and ensure adequate stock levels in collaboration with front-end and back-end operations.
  • Conduct safety walks and report any hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Communicate with management regarding concerns, issues, and team morale.
  • Plan, schedule, and implement non-selling operations in the front end of the store.
  • Delegate tasks and follow up on daily responsibilities of associates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail environment OR 5 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Experience providing direction or supervision to teams.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and developing associates.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a retail setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure as required by law.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in front-end or back-end operations in a retail environment.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibility.
  • Experience in the home improvement retail sector.
