About the position

The Front End Department Supervisor at Lowe's is responsible for leading a team of associates to ensure a superior customer experience in the store. This role involves coaching, training, and managing performance while overseeing non-selling operations at the front end. The supervisor collaborates with other department supervisors and assistant store managers to meet service, operations, and safety objectives, while also conducting safety walks and reporting hazards to maintain a safe store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Coach and train associates on store operations and safety protocols.
  • Delegate tasks and follow up on daily responsibilities of the team.
  • Monitor and manage performance of front-end associates.
  • Ensure adequate department coverage and stock levels.
  • Collaborate with other department supervisors and assistant store managers.
  • Conduct safety walks and report any hazards in the store.
  • Open or close the store and serve as manager-on-duty when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail environment OR 5 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Experience providing direction or supervision to teams.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and developing associates.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a retail setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure as required by law.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in front-end or back-end operations in a retail environment.
  • Experience in a customer service role.
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibility.
  • Experience in the home improvement retail sector.
  • Experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience in a key carrying role with manager-on-duty responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with store computer systems such as Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client.
