About the position

The Front End Department Supervisor at Lowe's is responsible for leading a team of associates to ensure a superior customer experience in the store. This role involves coaching, training, and managing performance while overseeing non-selling operations at the front end. The supervisor collaborates with other department supervisors and assistant store managers to meet service, operations, and safety objectives, while also conducting safety walks and reporting hazards to maintain a safe store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Coach and train associates on store operations and safety protocols.
  • Delegate tasks and follow up on daily responsibilities to ensure adequate department coverage.
  • Monitor the use of store power equipment and coach employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
  • Collaborate with front-end and back-end operations associates to ensure items are adequately stocked.
  • Conduct safety walks and report hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Communicate with management regarding concerns, issues, recognitions, and morale.
  • Occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail environment OR 5 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Experience providing direction or supervision to teams.
  • Experience supporting or participating in the training, mentoring, and development of associates.
  • Experience working cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.
