About the position

The Front End Department Supervisor at Lowe's is responsible for leading a team of associates to ensure a superior customer experience in the store. This role involves coaching and training staff, managing performance, and overseeing daily operations in the front end of the store. The supervisor collaborates with other department supervisors and assistant store managers to meet service, operations, and safety objectives, while also conducting safety walks and monitoring store equipment usage. The position may require occasional store opening or closing duties and acting as manager-on-duty.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Coach and train associates on best practices and store operations.
  • Monitor and ensure adequate department coverage and performance management.
  • Collaborate with front-end and back-end operations associates to maintain stock levels.
  • Conduct safety walks and report hazards to maintain a safe store environment.
  • Communicate with management regarding concerns, issues, and staff morale.
  • Occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail environment OR 5 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Experience providing direction or supervision to teams.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and developing associates.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a retail setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure as required by law.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in front-end or back-end operations in a retail environment.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibility.
  • Experience in the home improvement retail sector.
  • Experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience in a key carrying role with manager-on-duty responsibilities.
