About the position

The Front-end Supervisor at King Soopers is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while achieving sales and profit goals. This role involves supervising the Front-end department, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards, and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return. The position requires effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to handle stressful situations while promoting the company's core values.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment for customers.
  • Achieve Front-end performance goals and best practices.
  • Drive the department to reach sales and profit goals.
  • Monitor established quality assurance standards.
  • Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Front-end department.
  • Execute best practices and established standards for the department.
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  • Collaborate with associates to achieve company/store goals.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product-related questions.
  • Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and make suggestions to customers.
  • Manage cash control, sales, and cash items and records for the store.
  • Assist in preparing the store/department budget and profit and loss reviews.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  • Monitor and control expenses for the department.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
  • Ensure department associates are compliant with company training standards.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance on equipment and report issues.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports, completing performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills

  • Retail or Customer Service experience
  • Front-end experience
