About the position

The Part-Time Front-End Developer at goodr will be responsible for creating and maintaining user-friendly web experiences that align with the company's fun and authentic brand values. This role is part of the UX/UI team and involves executing website changes, optimizing performance, and staying updated with emerging technologies. The position requires in-office work on Tuesdays and potentially a third day, with a maximum of 29 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the goodr website, supporting any improvements or changes as requested.
  • Translate design mockups and wireframes into high-quality code.
  • Test and debug to ensure the best user experience.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and resolve any issues as they arise.
  • Optimize components for maximum performance.
  • Identify new technologies that can enhance site usability and visual display capabilities.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Work closely with the UX team on website needs or projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of front-end web experience coding in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Shopify is a MUST.
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks is required.
  • Experience with Figma, especially in dev mode, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles.
  • Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle, from ideation to release.
  • Ability to write code efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
  • Dependable with a willingness to take initiative and work collaboratively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • May or may not have a degree, with bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law.
  • Loves asking questions and is into personal growth.
  • Enjoys giving and receiving feedback.
