About the position

The Senior Front End Developer at Booz Allen is responsible for creating interactive articles that utilize data visualization and animation to enhance user experience. This role involves collaborating with a team of developers and designers to produce high-quality interactive products for the Intelligence Community, focusing on user-centric design and functionality. The position requires expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks and visualization libraries, as well as a passion for web design and data storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop interactive articles using data visualization and animation.
• Collaborate with a team of developers and designers to create user-centric products.
• Utilize React and Angular to build interactive finished intelligence products.
• Work on both short and long-term projects, learning new libraries and technologies as needed.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a web developer using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Experience with at least one modern JS framework, including React, Angular, Vue, or Svelte.
• Experience with popular JS visualization libraries, including D3, Leaflet, Highcharts, Lottie, Plotly, Threejs, or Mapbox.
• Experience with Git and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Xd.
• Experience with graphic design.
• Experience in the Intelligence Community.
• Experience with usability evaluations and testing.
• Knowledge of Section 508 compliance.
• Knowledge of statistics.
• Passion for data visualization or UI and UX.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Cartography, or a related field.
