We are seeking an experienced front-end developer to join our software development team in Northfield/Chicago, IL. This position is responsible for designing and implementing solutions for various business initiatives and product development. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, pleasant to collaborate with, and constantly seeking to improve and expand their skills. The role involves working closely with a matrixed team of developers, including Front End Developers, Test Engineers, Full Stack Developers, and Back End Developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of the business and its customers. As a Front End Developer, you will be tasked with designing, coding, testing, deploying, and supporting software for product and commerce needs. You will troubleshoot and resolve software defects within product development, participate in code reviews, and foster DevOps adaptation by the team. Navigating ambiguous and complex business problems will be a key part of your role, as well as understanding and applying concepts such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Pair programming, and Mob programming. Adhering to established coding standards and facilitating design meetings with users, management, and architects will also be essential. In addition, you will analyze production issues to determine root causes and propose courses of action for resolution. Contributing to the continuous improvement of software development practices and writing documentation to ensure proper use of software systems will be part of your responsibilities. This position offers a flexible work environment, allowing you to work from home most days, with the expectation of being in the office on Thursdays or more frequently if project demands require it.
