About the position

The National Security Sector within Leidos is seeking a senior Full-Stack developer to support a complex program for the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This role involves Agile development and operations for critical systems, focusing on enhancing the screening and processing of travelers at U.S. ports of entry. The position requires collaboration in architecting, designing, building, and maintaining scalable, real-time systems, while participating in the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of software development including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining products.
• Work independently with minimal supervision as a self-starter.
• Interface with software developers, analysts, and project team members using Agile SCRUM methodology and SAFe.
• Translate customer needs into user stories and deliver working capabilities at the conclusion of each sprint.
• Mentor junior and entry-level software developers to enhance their skills.
• Participate and/or lead sprint demonstrations and facilitate implementation of ideas identified at retrospectives.
• Effectively communicate technical challenges and potential solutions to leaders within Leidos and CBP.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years with a Master's degree; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 10 years of software development experience including JAVA and REACT.
• 5+ years' experience developing cloud-ready applications or migrating applications to the cloud.
• Ability to obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start.
• Experience in an Agile/SecDevOps environment with proven ability to deliver on commitments.
• Knowledge of software design patterns.
• Extensive experience in building large scale web applications.
• Experience with JS frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, JSON, and JavaScript.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Experience with automated deployment tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience in Test Driven Development frameworks.
• Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git/Github.
• Experience enhancing the performance of high-traffic sites.
• Google Cloud experience.
