About the position

We are looking for a talented and experienced Front-End Developer to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for bringing our UX ideas to life and translating our company and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive web applications. You will collaborate with our team to deliver high-quality, responsive, and visually appealing web experiences. We expect you to be a tech-savvy professional who is curious about new digital technologies and aspires to combine usability with visual design. This role within the personalized marketing team will include collaboration with designers, marketing specialists, engineers, and other marketing teams on planning and execution. The Front-End Developer reports to the Manager, Creative Technology and is a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (jQuery, Vue.js).
• Knowledge of current web accessibility standards and requirements.
• Knowledge of information architecture, interaction design, and user-centered design.
• Experience with responsive design and best practices.
• Strong knowledge in core web and browser concepts (e.g., how the browser parses and constructs a web page).
• Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
• Collaborate with back-end developer and UI/UX Designer to improve usability.
• Experience using design software to collaborate with designers and create pixel perfect web pages (e.g., Figma, Sketch).
• Write functional requirement documents and guides.
• Code and implement high quality technical and engineering work for complex web projects, including troubleshooting and problem solving, communicating with stakeholders and team members, reporting on outcomes.
• Initiate longer-term initiatives that will impact the efficiency of the team, the quality of output and reducing technical debt, including introducing new processes and solutions.
• Maintain and improve the overall experience of our products through improving the quality of frontend features.
• Help identify areas of improvements in the code base that help contribute to make it better.
• Help plan sprints and complete prioritized issues.
• Ensure consistency and a high level of quality.
• Other duties and projects, as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a relevant field.
• 7+ years experience specializing in front-end development for websites and SEO optimization.
• Proven work experience as a Front-end developer.
• Proficiency in front-end programming languages including: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge in Python and SQL preferred, but not required.
• Hands on experience with markup languages.
• Strong grasp of CSS fundamentals including selectors, specificity, box model, and layout techniques.
• In-Depth understanding of key website design principles, methods, processes and SEO optimization.
• Understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment).
• Ability to use client input to create functional, creative and user-friendly webpages.
• Plan and execute your own work, independently with attention around both stakeholder and engineer dependencies.
• Analytical and detail-oriented.
• Self-motivated and self-managing, with great organizational skills and a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
• Observant and able to remain focused on tasks for long periods of time.
• Ability to test and debug websites.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to communicate complex technical problems, provide clear status updates, and achieve consensus with peers.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer understanding of marketing concepts such as conversion, analytics, A/B testing, lead generation, customer journeys, and search engine optimization.
• Good time-management skills to meet project deadlines.
