Front-End Drivers operate front-end trucks that provide services to a variety of multi-family residential and commercial routes, removing and transporting waste or recyclables in fulfillment of customer contracts. This position will service multiple customers per day according to assigned routes. The waste will then need to be transferred to the appropriate station, landfill, or drop-off location. The role requires a commitment to safety and customer service, ensuring that all operations are conducted in compliance with company policies and legal regulations. Key responsibilities include driving commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to mechanically collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities. Drivers must perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, complete vehicle condition reports, and maintain logs as required by law or company policy. Interaction with customers is essential, as drivers must courteously respond to inquiries and notify supervisors of any issues requiring management action. Additionally, maintaining a clean work environment by cleaning up any loose trash around the truck and container is a critical part of the job. The position also involves maneuvering the truck into and out of tight spaces, using mirrors for backing up, and following safe operating practices. Drivers must be vigilant in monitoring operations for loose debris and must adhere to all safety standards and procedures. Other job-related duties may be assigned as necessary, making flexibility and adaptability important traits for success in this role.
