Front-End Drivers operate front-end trucks that provide services to a variety of multi-family residential and commercial routes, removing and transporting waste or recyclables in fulfillment of customer contracts. This position will service multiple customers per day according to assigned routes. The waste will then need to be transferred to the appropriate station, landfill, or drop-off location. The role requires a commitment to safety and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding waste management and vehicle operation. Key responsibilities include driving commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to mechanically collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities. Drivers will need to open container enclosures or gates to access cans, roll 3-4-yard cans into position for dumping, and perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections. They are expected to courteously interact with customers and the general public along the route, answering questions or responding to requests, and notifying supervisors of any issues requiring management action. Maintaining a clean customer site and safety along roads and highways is crucial, which includes cleaning loose trash off the truck and surrounding area after dumping. Additionally, drivers must maintain and submit a logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report as required by law or company policy. They will maneuver the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces using mirrors, follow safe operating practices, and monitor operations to detect loose debris. Compliance with all safety standards and company policies is mandatory, and drivers may be assigned other job-related duties as needed.
