About the position
The Front-End Driver position at GFL Environmental involves operating front-end trucks to collect and transport waste or recyclables from various multi-family residential and commercial routes. This role is essential for fulfilling customer contracts and ensuring waste is transferred to the appropriate disposal locations. Responsibilities
- Drive commercial equipment along designated routes to collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, complete logbooks and required reports, and follow safe operating practices.
- Open enclosures or gates and roll cans into position for dumping; monitor operations for loose debris and clean any spills around the truck and container.
- Interact courteously with customers and the public along the route; report any issues requiring management attention.
- Follow all safety standards, perform equipment checks, and comply with federal, state, local, and company rules on vehicle operation.
Requirements
- Valid CDL license required.
- Experience operating front-end trucks preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Strong communication skills for customer interaction.

- Familiarity with GPS and route navigation systems.
