About the position

Zero Waste Solutions, Inc. is actively seeking dedicated front end drivers to join our team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for operating refuse trucks, collecting and dumping trash receptacles, and managing route schedules primarily in Washington, DC. This position is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and sustainability of our communities, and you will play a key role in ensuring that waste is collected efficiently and disposed of properly. As a front end driver, you will be expected to collect trash, recyclables, and bulk items from both residential and commercial accounts, ensuring that all materials are disposed of at appropriate locations or landfills. You will also be responsible for making minor adjustments to the equipment used and assisting in its cleaning and servicing. Safety is paramount in this role; therefore, you will conduct routine safety and maintenance checks of the equipment before leaving the yard and at the end of each day. In addition to your driving duties, you will maintain records of work performed and submit reports to the Project Manager. You will be required to observe proper safety and DOT regulations while performing physical labor and any other duties necessary to achieve the successful operation of the Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Program. Daily vehicle and route-related records must be maintained, and any accidents or incidents must be reported to your supervisor promptly. Responsibilities

  • Collects trash, recycle, and bulk items from residential and commercial accounts, and disposes at appropriate locations/landfills.
  • Makes minor adjustments to and assists in cleaning or servicing of equipment used.
  • Conducts routine safety and maintenance checks of equipment before leaving the yard and at the end of the day.
  • Maintains records of work performed and submits reports to Project Manager.
  • Performs other essential duties as required to achieve successful operations of the ISWM Program.
  • Observes proper safety and DOT regulations in the field.
  • Performs physical labor and any other duty that is required.
  • Maintains and inspects vehicles and equipment daily.
  • Maintains daily vehicle, and route related records.
  • Reports accidents and incidents to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • 2 years of minimum experience in Heavy Truck driving, equipment operation, waste management.
  • Class B CDL State driver's license with an insurable record.
  • DOT Health Card and ability to pass DOT Drug Screen.
  • Ability to obtain security background clearance.
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate.
