About the position

The Front-End Driver operates front-end trucks to provide waste and recycling services to various multi-family residential and commercial routes. This role involves servicing multiple customers daily, ensuring the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste to designated facilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities.
• Open container enclosures or gates to access cans and roll 3-4-yard cans into position for dumping as needed.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and submit a vehicle condition report at the end of the shift.
• Interact courteously with customers and the general public along the route, addressing questions and notifying supervisors of issues.
• Clean loose trash off the truck and surrounding area to maintain a clean customer site and ensure safety.
• Maintain and submit a logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report as required by law or company policy.
• Maneuver the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces using mirrors for backing up.
• Utilize a key map and GPS to locate service addresses.
• Follow safe operating practices, including lock out/tag out procedures for truck operation.
• Monitor operations for loose debris and visually scan customer sites before and after dumping.
• Comply with all safety standards and regulations during the performance of duties.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum of one (1) year commercial truck driving experience or a CDL school certificate.
• Meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to company standards.
• Demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.
