Front-End Drivers operate front-end trucks that provide services to a variety of multi-family residential and commercial routes, removing and transporting waste or recyclables in fulfillment of customer contracts. This position will service multiple customers per day according to assigned routes. The waste will then need to be transferred to the appropriate station, landfill, or drop-off location. The role requires a commitment to safety and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding waste management and vehicle operation. Key responsibilities include driving commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to mechanically collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities. Drivers must perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, complete and submit vehicle condition reports, and maintain logs as required by law or company policy. Interaction with customers is essential, as drivers must courteously respond to inquiries and notify supervisors of any issues requiring management action. Additionally, drivers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness around the truck and ensuring safety along the routes. The position demands a high level of physical fitness, as drivers must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively. The ability to maneuver the truck in tight spaces and follow safe operating practices is crucial. Drivers must also be able to recognize unacceptable waste and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. This role is vital in ensuring that waste is collected efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall success of the company's operations.
