About the position

The Front End Drupal Developer will support website and related projects through front-end development and theming. This role requires a blend of programming skills and aesthetic sensibility, focusing on creating responsive and adaptive designs while adhering to Drupal best practices. The position is flexible, allowing for hybrid or fully remote work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of website development/deployment projects, from discovery and planning to implementation and post-launch maintenance.
  • Work within a scrum development team to complete incremental functional and design improvements on the site.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX visual designer to match and execute visual design intent.
  • Execute the development of web applications from wireframes to fully functioning websites using Drupal best practices.
  • Implement design systems and ensure consistent design across all web pages and applications.
  • Support content creators by building pages within the Drupal CMS.
  • Write and debug frontend code including HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript.
  • Ensure website cross-browser compatibility, performance optimization, and SEO best practices.
  • Research emergent web solutions, website development software, and best practices in code, security, and long-term strategies for web-delivered content.
  • Participate in code reviews, giving and receiving feedback on both front and back end code.
  • Collaborate with backend developers and IT teams to integrate systems and third-party APIs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing and templating in a CMS including styling and templating.
  • Strong skills in HTML, CSS, templating, and modern JavaScript techniques.
  • Solid understanding of source control and development best practices.
  • Experience working with an IT department/organization, responding to requirements for systems, versions, integrations, documentation, and other controls.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks like jQuery, React, Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.
  • Experience working with agile workflows and supporting tools, such as JIRA.
  • Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
  • Proactive approach.
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager preferred.
  • Results-oriented, reliable, able to work under pressure.
  • Team mentality - jumping in to help others as needed, empowering and collaborating with others.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change on the fly, maintaining a positive attitude, and focusing on the path ahead.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas to business partners and external vendors.
  • Availability to provide 'on call' support, as required.
  • Eager to embrace current and emerging web technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher).

Nice-to-haves
