About the position

The Front End Helper Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting with bagging groceries and offering carryout services. This role also involves maintaining cleanliness in the store, stocking groceries, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, professional customer service
• Bag groceries and provide carryout according to PCC bagging guidelines
• Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and taking out the trash
• Clean bathrooms, the meat department, and shelves
• Stock and face items from the grocery department
• Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the store
• Stock bags in the check stands and bulk containers
• Return merchandise from the check stand to the sales shelf and verify pricing on items
• Support grocery department as needed, including stocking and rotating products
• Ensure department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met
• Operate all equipment in accordance with PCC standards

Requirements

• Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
• Available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to meet physical demands of the job including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting 10-40lbs regularly
• A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
