About the position

The Front End Java Developer position at MSys Inc. is a long-term role focused on supporting the MDOT Development program. The developer will work closely with project teams, UI/UX designers, and business analysts to create and maintain reusable UI components that are accessible, performant, scalable, and robust. The role requires familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design, with a hybrid work model requiring two days a week onsite in Lansing, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reusable UI components that are accessible, performant, scalable, and robust.
• Collaborate with development project teams, UI/UX designers, and business analysts.
• Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1, ADA standards, and responsive design principles.
• Test all development for accessibility using Jaws reader and multiple browser plugins.

Requirements

• Strong background with React.js (5 years).
• Experience with HTML5 and CSS Frameworks (5 years).
• Strong knowledge of ADA, WCAG 2.1, Section 508 compliance policies, and User Experience design principles (5 years).
• Experience with current JAVA and relevant IDE tools such as Eclipse/Jboss Developer Studio (3 years).
• Experience programming in projects using JPA framework (2 years).
• Experience programming in projects using current Spring framework (2 years).
• Experience programming with Spring Boot and Spring Data (2 years).
• Experience programming with Java 8+ (3 years).
• Experience participating as a programmer within an Agile development environment (2 years).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience programming in the JBOSS Enterprise environment (2 years).
