About the position

The Front End/Lead Clerk at Metro Market is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Front End department, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures while promoting a positive shopping experience for customers. This role emphasizes customer service, effective communication, and the management of various operational components, including merchandising and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support of all Front End department operations, policies, processes, and procedures.
• Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Manage people, merchandising, inventory management, shrink control, customer service, labor scheduling, and expense control.
• Explore and develop more effective and efficient processes, policies, and procedures for Front End, Customer Service Center, and Accounting.
• Ensure safe, effective, and efficient customer service is provided throughout the department.
• Coach and train customer service manager and front end supervisors.
• Support store management in maintaining a well-organized, clean, pleasant shopping environment at the check stands and surrounding areas.
• Follow through on special assignments and perform any and all duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Store retail experience with an emphasis on customer service and front-end operations.
• Ability to multi-task and handle large workloads.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to learn a wide range of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ACE, Supersked, etc.
• Past work record must exhibit a high level of integrity and dependability.
