About the position

The Front End/Receiving Lead Clerk is responsible for efficiently and accurately receiving and verifying grocery vendor deliveries. This role also involves performing various functions in Produce, Point-of-Sale, and Receiving to support the store's financial interests while upholding the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify grocery vendor deliveries efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform functions in Produce, Point-of-Sale, and Receiving that contribute to the store's financial best interests.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner throughout the store.
  • Assist customers with product retrieval, price checks, and loading/unloading heavy items.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and respond to their questions and requests in a timely manner.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, box cutters, and forklifts according to company guidelines.
  • Monitor and control vendor traffic through the Receiving area.
  • Log irregularities, discrepancies, shortages, and damaged shipments; process credits and document vendor resolutions.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards in all areas of the store.
  • Check and maintain equipment for proper performance and report issues to the store director.
  • Comply with food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations according to local, state, and federal health codes.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents; basic math skills.
