About the position

The Front End/Relief Assistant Department Leader is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting in the management of the department, and maximizing financial opportunities. This role includes taking on management responsibilities in the absence of the Manager and Assistant Manager, while embodying the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and assist with management of the department.
  • Maximize all financial opportunities for the department.
  • Assume management responsibilities in the absence of the Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Deliver and encourage excellent customer service among associates.
  • Guarantee fast and friendly checkout service for customers.
  • Provide peer coaching for cashiers following best practices.
  • Maintain compliance with corporate policies and safety guidelines.
  • Respond to customer situations and perform cashier functions when required.
  • Monitor scheduling and manage common associate areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of six months of cashier experience and one to two years of related retail experience.
  • Minimum age of 18 years (19 in Idaho and Alaska).
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work weekends regularly.
  • Ability to travel independently on a rare basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate accuracy/attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CPR/first aid certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
