About the position

The TS/SCI Front End Software Engineer position at Apex Systems involves developing and maintaining advanced Geospatial Intelligence analysis software. The role focuses on creating immersive user interfaces and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience. The engineer will also mentor junior developers and uphold coding best practices while optimizing performance and efficiency of web applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop immersive user interfaces using Svelte, HTML, CSS, and Typescript.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Engage as a thought leader within the team, driving innovative approaches and strategies.
• Contribute to the optimization of code for maximum performance and efficiency.
• Uphold and champion industry best practices for web application development.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team collaboration.
• Work closely with Product and Product design teams to understand technical challenges.
• Enforce strong coding best practices, guidelines, and standards throughout the team.
• Ensure all code is clearly tested from end-to-end.
• Foster a collaborative environment and be a good role model within the team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer with user interface development in Angular, React, Svelte, or similar framework.
• Experience creating and maintaining Enterprise web applications and integrating with back end services.
• Strong experience in CSS and creating page layouts using component libraries and toolkits.
• 10+ years of experience in software development (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance) required.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of architecture styles and APIs including REST.
• Understanding of GIS concepts (ESRI tools, OGC Standards).
• Experience working with CI pipelines.
• Experience with ElasticSearch and Kibana.
• Experience with AWS environments.
• Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment.
