About the position

As a Senior Front End Software Developer at Booz Allen, you will be responsible for creating end-to-end software solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment. This role involves not just coding, but also designing and developing systems that address complex challenges for clients. You will work within a data science and software development team to process open-source information and create data solutions that support critical decision-making processes. Your contributions will directly impact knowledge management and enhance the capabilities of various joint directorates, ensuring that the solutions align with current and future operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, code, and test multiple components of application code across one or more clients.
• Perform maintenance, enhancements, or development work on existing systems.
• Analyze the data needs and requirements of the organization and stakeholders, creating data architecture specifications and solutions.
• Design and develop logical and physical data models, schemas, structures, and relationships for various data sources, including databases and data warehouses.
• Collaborate with team members to develop systems that create positive change.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in Software Development.
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing tools and systems on a cloud platform, such as EC2, Amazon S3, Beanstalk, or Docker.
• 3+ years of experience with programming languages, including Python.
• 2+ years of experience with Graph Data Structure, Golang, or Git and Gitlab.
• Experience with JavaScript and web tool development.
• Experience with ReactJS, AngularJS, jQuery, or Bootstrap frameworks.
• Experience with sourcing publicly available data or open-source coding.
• Knowledge of various data analytic and visualization tools, such as Kitbana D3, ChartJs, or Plotly.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with relational and non-relational database modeling.
• System administration experience, API calling, modularity, and tasking or queueing.
• Experience collaborating with U.S. Military leadership hierarchies.
• Experience in providing training and support to users on applications that produce, store, and visualize operational data.
• Knowledge of tools for executive-level decision-making, including process mapping.
• Ability to convert poorly defined problems into practical solutions.
• Ability to communicate technical problems to a broad audience.
