About the position

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a TS/SCI cleared UI/UX Front-End Software Engineer to join a dynamic team dedicated to designing, developing, and deploying a cutting-edge technology stack that supports the DIA-NMEC (National Media Exploitation Center) DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP). This role is part of a multi-Task Order 10-year contract, where we support the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization program, as well as NMEC's mission to centralize and standardize Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) enterprise. As a Front-End Software Development Engineer, you will have a significant impact as part of a mission-focused, solutions-oriented, and adaptive team that values inclusion, innovation, collaboration, and professional development. Most of the work will be conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, but we offer a flexible schedule, and occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely. Responsibilities

  • Coding, testing, and debugging new and/or existing web applications.
  • Implementing and refining user interfaces.
  • Conducting thorough unit testing via automated tooling.
  • Collaborating with other team members (internal and external) to ensure optimal performance and usability.
  • Peer reviewing code written by fellow team members.
  • Utilizing virtualization technologies like Docker and ContainerD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline.
  • 4 - 8 years of relevant experience.
  • A Top Secret/SCI level security clearance with eligibility to obtain a Polygraph clearance.
  • Experience with modern front-end libraries such as ReactJS, with a minimum of 2 years professional experience.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of HTTP web requests for fetching JSON data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write well-documented code.

Nice-to-haves

  • A genuine passion for creating great user experiences.
  • Experience/knowledge of key Agile processes and techniques.
  • Experience with writing frontend unit tests.
  • Experience with writing backend web API services.
  • Experience coding in other languages such as Python.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL datastores such as Elasticsearch.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization techniques.
  • Up to date with emerging front-end technologies.
