About the position
The Front End Supervisor at Balducci's Food Lover's Market is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service at the checkout area. This role involves overseeing the Front End Clerks, managing cash flow, and maintaining operational efficiency while promoting a positive shopping experience for customers. The supervisor will also handle customer relations, train staff, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service for customers.
- Support the Front End Manager in overseeing the duties of Front End Clerks, Courtesy Clerks, and Customer Service Clerks.
- Assist with daily cash balancing, reconciliation, and payroll reports.
- Champion customer service programs to meet or exceed goals.
- Handle customer relations and resolve complaints effectively.
- Promote personalized service and engage in suggestive selling.
- Direct and supervise front end activities, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
- Monitor customer traffic and service levels, coordinating front end programs.
- Handle cash flow and control, including safe transactions and refunds.
- Train front end and courtesy clerks, monitoring compliance with standards.
- Achieve budget goals for labor, cash variation, and supplies.
Requirements
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Experience in customer service and cash handling (1 year preferred).
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and weights and measures.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot PCs and check stand equipment.
Nice-to-haves
