About the position

The Front End Team Lead at Bass Pro Shops is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a specific department, ensuring effective merchandise presentation, inventory control, and customer service. This role involves providing direction to associates, achieving departmental sales goals, and maintaining a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Support the Group Sales Manager (GSM) or Department Manager (DM) in achieving departmental sales and inventory goals.
• Provide daily direction to associates within the department.
• Prepare task lists and execute merchandising directives from the corporate office.
• Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for customers.
• Assist in staffing the department with service-oriented associates and coordinate training.
• Prepare weekly work schedules and coach associates to promote positive customer relations.
• Resolve customer and associate issues in collaboration with GSM and HR Manager.
• Maintain a high level of personal customer service and achieve better than company average customer service results.
• Remain a product expert through ongoing training and conduct product demos for staff.
• Assist in coordinating special events and maintaining pricing integrity.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in retail sales; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages.
• Ability to read and analyze reports and present information effectively.
• Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, and inventory management systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
