About the position

The Front Load Driver at Waste Pro is responsible for operating refuse collection vehicles on designated routes to pick up garbage. This role involves performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining the cleanliness of the truck, and ensuring safe and efficient waste collection. The driver will also engage with customers and handle various operational tasks under supervision, contributing to the overall service quality of Waste Pro.

Responsibilities

• Operate refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up garbage.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip truck checks and cleaning.
• Service commercial businesses by picking up Front Load Containers.
• Empty containers using levers inside the truck cab.
• Transport waste to designated local landfill/disposal areas.
• Complete route/productivity sheets and maintain written records.
• Communicate professionally with customers and report any issues to internal contacts.
• Ensure the safe operation of the truck, including inspections and evaluations of materials for collection.
• Maintain a clean truck and wash the exterior weekly.
• Attend and participate in corporation-sponsored training courses.

Requirements

• Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state of Florida.
• Requires a safe driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Exhibit normal range of body motion.
• Drive various types of refuse trucks and observe legal and defensive driving practices.
• Follow designated refuse collection routes and work schedules.
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in waste management or refuse collection industry.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation and State requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.
