About the position
The Front Load Driver at USA Waste and Recycling is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck to service assigned residential and commercial routes. This role emphasizes customer service, safety compliance, and efficient waste management practices, contributing to the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation in waste processing.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on specified routes.
- Perform pre-and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and complete necessary paperwork.
- Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of customer complaints, incidents, or potential safety hazards.
- Identify and report containers in need of repair or replacement.
- Effectively use a tablet to ensure route reconciles to service listed.
- Completely dump containers and leave the customer's location free of debris.
- Perform all duties scheduled by the Route Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as needed.
- Maintain punctual attendance consistent with company policies.
- Adapt to changing duties based on business needs.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A or B with air brake endorsement preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Acceptable driving record required.
- Complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in driving heavy-duty trucks.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to read and write logs, reports, orders, and maps.
