About the position

As an Assistant Manager II at Compass Community Living, you will play a crucial role in the management of food service operations within a small to medium volume location. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in overseeing the daily operations while ensuring compliance with corporate and brand standards. This position is pivotal in maximizing profitability and enhancing guest and associate satisfaction. You will be involved in the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives that align with the company’s goals. In this role, you will manage and schedule the servers and waitstaff, ensuring that the team operates efficiently and effectively. You will assist in managing food service operations in accordance with the approved budget, providing clients with maximum value for their investment. Quality assurance is a key aspect of your responsibilities, as you will ensure that the food offered to clients, customers, and associates meets the highest standards. Additionally, you will assist with purchasing and inventory management, maintaining excellent relationships with associates, guests, and clients, as well as collaborating with other departments within the operation. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the food service operations at Quarry Hill, a premiere Senior Living community in Camden, Maine.

Responsibilities

  • Management, oversight and scheduling of Servers / waitstaff
  • Assists with managing food service operations in accordance with the approved budget while providing the client with the maximum value for the dollars spent
  • Ensures the food offered to the client, customers, and associates of the operation is of superior quality
  • Assists with purchasing and inventory
  • Maintains excellent relationships with associates, guests and client, as well as, other departments within the operation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2 years of food service supervisory experience
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food
  • Financial experience and business acumen skills
  • ServSafe Certification is preferred
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet
  • Associate's degree is preferred
