About the position

The Front of House Manager (FOH Manager) at our Gourmet Italian Cuisine Restaurant is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all Front of House operations to ensure that customers enjoy a pleasant dining experience. This position requires a dedicated individual who can manage various tasks simultaneously while maintaining a calm demeanor in emergencies. The FOH Manager is tasked with upholding the company's standards, which include ensuring the satisfactory appearance of served food, efficient operation of service staff, adherence to cleanliness standards, enforcement of policies, and optimization of profits. Additionally, the FOH Manager must ensure compliance with local health and safety codes applicable to eating establishments. This role also encompasses responsibilities typically associated with Bartenders and Servers, making it essential for the FOH Manager to be versatile and knowledgeable in all aspects of restaurant service. In this full-time position, the FOH Manager will work primarily during the day shift and will be expected to perform opening and closing duties in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role demands a professional restaurant image, which includes maintaining cleanliness, ensuring proper uniforms, and adhering to appearance standards. The FOH Manager will also be responsible for addressing customer complaints, managing inventory, and ensuring that all staff members are trained and compliant with company policies. Attendance at all management meetings is required, and the FOH Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction and a quality dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs.
  • Perform opening and closing duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any violations of company policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Adjust and cover schedules as needed.
  • Address complaints with customers in person and via social media.
  • Manage inventory and rotation as well as product storage standards.
  • Attend all management meetings.
  • Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction and quality guest experience.
  • Address all void, comp, service, and performance issues with the appropriate staff members and investigate any pertinent concerns.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to the health, safety, and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in restaurant management is required.
  • Ability to commute to Galloway, NJ 08205 is required.
  • Ability to relocate to Galloway, NJ 08205 before starting work is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of craft beers, liquors, wine, and food is critical.
