About the position

In this role, you will provide essential administrative and patient care support to the assigned clinic within the UCLA Health Community Clinics. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic, ensuring a seamless experience from registration to discharge. As a vital member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team, you will work collaboratively to facilitate smooth outpatient operations, which is crucial for achieving optimum patient satisfaction and efficient clinic functioning. This position requires a proactive approach to managing various tasks and responsibilities, ensuring that all aspects of patient care and administrative duties are handled with professionalism and efficiency. You will be expected to communicate effectively with physicians and staff in a high-volume setting, demonstrating excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize assignments effectively. Your role will involve facilitating the appointment-making process, which includes coordinating transportation arrangements and maintaining the schedules of sub-specialty physicians. This requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple appointments across various clinical services at the UCLA Medical Center. Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the assigned clinic in the UCLA Health Community Clinics.
  • Assist in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic from registration to discharge.
  • Work as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team to ensure smooth outpatient operations.
  • Facilitate the appointment-making process, including transportation arrangements.
  • Maintain sub-specialty physician schedules and coordinate multiple appointments with clinical staff.

  • Experience with a database computer program.
  • Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
