About the position

In this role, you will provide essential administrative and patient care support to the assigned clinic within the UCLA Health Community Clinics. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic, ensuring a seamless experience from registration to discharge. You will work collaboratively as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team, focusing on delivering smooth outpatient flow that results in optimum patient satisfaction and efficient clinic operations. This position is crucial in maintaining the high standards of care that UCLA Health is known for, and you will play a key role in facilitating communication between patients, physicians, and clinic staff. Your duties will include managing appointment scheduling, ensuring that patients are seen in a timely manner, and addressing any issues that may arise during the patient visit. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed. Additionally, you will assist in transportation arrangements for patients as needed and help maintain the schedules of sub-specialty physicians. Your ability to communicate professionally and effectively in a high-volume setting will be essential to your success in this role. This position offers a competitive salary range of $25.60 to $36.33 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients in the Ventura area, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall success of the clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the assigned clinic in UCLA Health Community Clinics.
  • Assist in coordinating patient flow from registration to discharge.
  • Work as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team to ensure smooth outpatient operations.
  • Facilitate the appointment-making process efficiently and accurately.
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients as needed.
  • Maintain sub-specialty physician schedules and ensure timely patient appointments.
  • Communicate professionally with physicians and staff in a high-volume setting.
  • Manage and maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate multiple appointments with staff from various clinical services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Skill in using a PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and Email.
  • Experience with a database computer program.
  • Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
