About the position

The Business Assistant at My Dentist - Springfield plays a crucial role in supporting the front office operations of the dental practice. This position emphasizes collaboration, communication, and a patient-first approach within a goal-oriented team environment. The Business Assistant will manage various administrative tasks, including patient interactions, insurance billing, and appointment scheduling, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining data safeguards.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a great first impression.
  • Manage front office duties, including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies.
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records management.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers in the office.
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits, and explanation of coverage.
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables.
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.
  • Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a dental, medical, retail, or customer service setting preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable.
  • Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a dental office setting.
