About the position

The Front Office Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing administrative tasks within a clinical setting, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients and visitors. This position involves handling patient flow, scheduling appointments, and processing insurance verifications, all while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a welcoming environment by greeting patients and visitors
  • Manages patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Schedules appointments for multiple providers
  • Processes insurance verifications using Waystar and other payer sites
  • Explains and communicates insurance benefits to patients
  • Assesses and updates patient demographics and insurance information
  • Handles inquiries regarding patient financial concerns
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred, especially in a health-related field
  • Two years' experience in a healthcare environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Maintains a high level of patient confidentiality
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • MS Office computer skills with the ability to type 30+ wpm
  • Ability to adapt to EMR functionality
  • Experience in eClinical Works strongly preferred

  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
