About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Office Manager/Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations at the front desk, providing excellent customer service, and supporting our clinical staff. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with general dentistry practices and an understanding of dental terminology, along with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out process efficiently.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar for the dental team.
  • Collect patient information and verify insurance details while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and equipped with necessary supplies.
  • Support clinical staff by assisting with vital signs and basic patient assessments as needed.
  • Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Utilize dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment when required.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a dental office or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of general dentistry practices, dental terminology, and prosthodontics is highly desirable.
  • Experience with medical imaging techniques is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while providing exceptional patient care.
  • Understanding of infection control procedures to maintain a safe workplace for all individuals.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients, families, and staff members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Denti-Cal is a plus.
  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
