About the position

The Front Office Manager at The Jefferson, Washington DC is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Front Office department, ensuring that guests receive exceptional service and that all processes and procedures are implemented effectively. This role involves managing a team, enhancing guest experiences, and maintaining high standards of service in a luxury hotel environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the functioning of a 24/7 Front Office operation and ensure adherence to standards of excellence.
  • Coach, train, and correct behaviors in a proactive, positive manner.
  • Develop and mentor lower-level management to provide effective leadership and motivation.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and strategize ways to enhance their experiences.
  • Manage schedules, payroll, and departmental duties in line with budgeting and cost controls.
  • Handle arriving and departing guests as well as guest issues and complaints.
  • Manage Guest Service Agents, Concierge, Bell/Door/Valets, Night Auditors, and daily events.
  • Monitor lobby traffic and make staffing adjustments accordingly.
  • Complete a checklist of important daily tasks and room assignments according to hotel standards.
  • Resolve customer complaints through thorough research and effective resolution.
  • Prepare and conduct daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Coordinate activities with other hotel departments to facilitate communication and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous relevant experience in a luxury hotel is a must.
  • 2 years of Front Office management experience is preferred.
  • Scheduling flexibility to include working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multicultural team is essential.
  • Excellent presentation and strong communication skills are desired.
  • College Degree preferred.
  • Foreign language skills are a plus.
