About the position

The Front Office Manager is responsible for supervising front desk personnel and ensuring the efficient operation of all front office duties. This role involves directing activities related to guest services, reservations, and telephone operations, while also preparing monthly reports and budgets for front office operations. The manager is expected to provide excellent customer service, anticipate guest needs, and exceed their expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise front desk personnel and ensure proper completion of all front office duties.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of the front desk, reservations, guest services, and telephone areas.
  • Prepare monthly reports and budget for front office operations.
  • Provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times.
  • Meet and greet guests, ensuring all hotel staff provides gracious hospitality.
  • Manage meeting room and group sales, coordinating with the Front Desk.
  • Maximize unit room revenue through effective use of sales menu options in the property management system.
  • Monitor fluctuations and trends in room sales for forecasting purposes.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained according to service standards and outages are reported promptly.
  • Assist in promoting sales of property services to current and future guests.
  • Resolve guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
  • Prepare performance reports related to front office operations.
  • Monitor high balance guests and take appropriate action.
  • Ensure implementation of all hotel policies and house rules.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-5+ years work experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years hotel front desk supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience handling cash, accounting procedures, and general administrative tasks.
  • Computer Knowledge/Skills: MS Office, Property Management Software, Accounting Software.
  • Strong management skills and ability to delegate work effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hotel management or operations.
  • Knowledge of local area and community resources.
