About the position

The Front Office Manager at AJS Hotels is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Front Office staff, ensuring high levels of customer service, and managing guest arrivals and departures. This role involves supervising the Front Office operations to maximize guest satisfaction and room revenue, while also maintaining effective communication with all hotel departments.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the management of daily operations and Front Office staff.
  • Assist with overseeing and supervising guest arrivals and departures.
  • Provide high levels of customer service to ensure personalized service for each guest.
  • Monitor and control daily revenues and expenses by ensuring procedures are followed.
  • Motivate, supervise, coach, develop, empower, and discipline Front Office Agents.
  • Respond to guests' special requests, needs, problems, and concerns to ensure optimal guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed by Front Office staff.
  • Establish positive working relationships with all hotel departments.
  • Control open and closed dates, availability, and condition of rooms.
  • Complete weekly supply inventories to ensure adequate pars.
  • Provide a positive and productive work environment through example and consistency.
  • Stay current with industry equipment, technology, and techniques.
  • Keep the Director of Operations informed of all pertinent information related to the department.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Front Office experience in a hotel.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor required.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of management.
  • Ability to handle stress and pressure while maintaining composure.
  • Problem-solving skills to resolve issues effectively and positively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proper telephone etiquette and basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English for preparing reports and calculations.
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to use a calculator for calculations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Epitome software is a plus.
  • College degree preferred.
