About the position

The Frontend Developer role focuses on building and maintaining scalable, responsive web applications primarily using React and jQuery. The position requires collaboration with backend developers and UX/UI designers to create user-friendly interfaces and ensure high code quality. The developer will also be responsible for performance optimization and maintaining detailed documentation of application architecture and design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable, responsive web applications using React, jQuery, and other front-end technologies.
• Design and implement user-friendly interfaces, ensuring high code quality, reusability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with backend developers to integrate front-end components with server-side logic, ensuring smooth data flows between React components and SAP Commerce (Hybris).
• Regularly update and optimize existing applications for functionality, performance, and compatibility across browsers and devices.
• Implement complex features, ensuring compatibility across various platforms while optimizing for performance.
• Work closely with designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality products that meet both technical and user requirements.
• Maintain detailed documentation for application architecture, design decisions, and coding standards.
• Customize Hybris storefront templates and components to meet project needs, ensuring seamless integration with React and optimal performance within the SAP Commerce environment.
• Develop and maintain modular, reusable React components to optimize scalability and maintainability.
• Ensure front-end optimization within SAP Commerce for fast load times and smooth user interactions.
• Adhere to best coding standards, practices, and guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality across projects.
• Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to standards and promote knowledge sharing.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure intuitive, accessible interfaces that adhere to WCAG standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of front-end development experience with a strong focus on ecommerce applications.
• Expertise in building modular, reusable components, implementing state management (e.g., Redux, Context API), and leveraging React lifecycle methods and hooks (e.g., useState, useEffect).
• Experience integrating React components with Hybris, customizing storefront templates, and optimizing performance within the Hybris environment.
• Experience with front-end testing frameworks and tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, and QUnit.
• Ability to maintain and refactor jQuery code, ensuring compatibility with React and leveraging it where necessary.
• Experience deploying front-end applications on cloud platforms (Azure preferred, but AWS or Google Cloud is beneficial).
• Proficient in performance monitoring and optimization using tools like Google Analytics, New Relic, and Datadog.
• Familiarity with implementing secure front-end applications using OAuth2, JWT, and SSO integrations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, working closely with backend developers, UX/UI designers, and product teams.
• Confidence with WCAG standards for accessibility and a strong understanding of user-centric design principles.
• Hands-on experience with modern tools, including familiarity with containerizing front-end applications using Docker and deploying them on Kubernetes.
